Starting with the pay-as-you-wish hostel PopInn, the building in need of renovation on the busy Schoenbrunner Strasse was gradually brought back to life over more than a year — known in the legacy material as SCHÖN111. Step by step, ever larger parts of the house were given different uses, and events revived the cultural life of the district.

Alongside a guesthouse with individually designed theme rooms, a bicycle workshop, a bar, a sharing shop, a pavement garden, a gallery in the attic and artists’ studios, there was always room for relocated university courses and barbecues on the roof terrace. Events included Attic, Décollage ist dein Fieber, La Petite Orgie and the T.R.U.S.T.111 birthday party. In the end a building slated for demolition had become a colourful circus full of life that drew visitors from all over the world.
