A pop-up use concept for the former Stadtapotheke at Kronenstrasse 31: a low-threshold place for digitalisation topics, exhibitions, workshops and temporary uses — complementing the planned Zukunftslabor.
The former Stadtapotheke at Kronenstrasse 31 was to serve as a pop-up for the functions that no longer fit into the planned Zukunftslabor: a contact point for the City of Kempten’s digitalisation topics, a space for exhibitions, workshops and encounters, and a test bed for temporary uses.
The concept relies on maximum freedom with minimal intervention: gentle renovation of the existing fabric, flexible and reusable furniture, and staff who curate the programme. The total investment was around EUR 131,600, of which about EUR 55,500 fell to the City of Kempten for technology and furniture.
