The starting point was the option of developing an interim use on the former meat market site next to the Marx Halle for two to three years. A quickly implemented, small-scale mixed use was to make the site more attractive and to build community for the residents already there and moving in — with the aim of drawing more people to Neu Marx.

The site was to be shared with Cirque de Soleil and an urban gardening project by Gartenpolylog; a recycling, upcycling and DIY idea was to connect with the neighbouring market hall and the containers already on site.
