A submission to the two-stage tender for the reuse of the former Remise Wolfganggasse: a use concept for culture, gastronomy, sport, small-scale trades and offices that opens the hall step by step in a pioneer and a settler phase.
Under the title “Die Devise ist Remise”, a reuse concept for the former Remise on Wolfganggasse was developed in 2017 for the two-stage tender run by wohnfonds_wien. The hall’s spatial configuration allows a varied mix of culture and gastronomy, sport and movement, and small-scale trades and offices.
The approach follows “form follows user”: after refurbishment, a pioneer phase opens the space for experimentation before a settler phase establishes economically viable structures for long-term use. Shared spaces as urban commons and DIY craftsmanship are meant to create identification and lower costs.
